When I had my follow-up DEXA scan, the results surprised me. I had lost 17 pounds of fat and gained 16 pounds of muscle. My VO₂ max had gone from 28 to nearly 40. It was clear I was moving in the right direction.
Before Astride, I exercised in fits and starts. I’d run on the treadmill for a while, lift weights for a month or two, and then life would get in the way. Between work and kids, it was hard to stay consistent. I’d get into decent shape, fall off, and then feel like I was starting over again.
What this experience has taught me is the value of momentum. Having a clear plan and ongoing support helped me stay engaged, even when things got busy. Now my focus is on maintaining that progress and continuing to build strength over time — not just for today, but for the long run.
